At Apricot Valley, each grade level has a school site representative. 5th and 6th grade students have the opportunity to run for positions on our Student Council. These students then help support activities at our site, as well as plan meetings, and suggest events. The Student Council is run by Mrs. Ponce and Ms. Caudillo.
The PHAST Jr. Club is run by Mr. Wilcox and Mrs. Machado. PHAST Jr. students help with Red Ribbon Week and other activities during the school year. The goal is to help students say no to drugs and alcohol.
National History Day meets afterschool and is run by Mrs. Moullette. These students research a topic that is related to the National History Day theme, write a paper, create a presentation and presentation board (or website), then present this at the NHD competition both locally and if they make it, at the State level.
Multicultural Day is put on by Mrs. Ponce and her committee. They have students/classes prepare presentation boards on different countries, their music, food, art styles, etc. Then students present this information as classes and community members visit their booth. This usually takes place in the Spring.
